Here are some questions we often get asked. If you have a question of your own please email us.

How do i book an appointment?

You can conveniently schedule an appointment via phone, email or at your leisure through our online booking app (click BOOK NOW at the top of any page). If you do not see a time online that works for you, feel free to give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you. Please be sure you are not double booking appointments for yourself and if you think you have an appointment and have not received a text or email reminder, please let us know.

To cancel or reschedule an appointment, our office requires that you do so no less than 24 hours in advance via phone call or email. If you will be more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, the doctor may see you only if it does not disrupt the schedule for other clients who are on time. If there are no openings, you will be asked to reschedule and the cancellation fee may be applied to your account.

When you arrive, please get ready so that when the doctor is ready, you can be seen with no delay. Log in to our system for the day on the tablet and begin emptying your pockets and placing personal items into the cubby such as shoes, earrings, glasses, etc. Help yourself to some water or tea.

Please respect our healing space by silencing your phones, take phone conversations into the hall and keep your voices low when talking in the office. Be sure to check in with the front desk before you leave. We are located on the 2nd floor and though we encourage people to take the stairs as long as its safe for any medical conditions, our building has an elevator for your convince. We have a serene waiting area filled with many useful resources for you to read on a wide variety of holistic health & lifestyle topics.

What are the parking and public transport options?

We are in Suite 203 on the second floor of 435 8th Street at 8th and Broadway conveniently near downtown, Chinatown and Jack London Square.

"Aki Parking Lot" is adjacent to our building. The cost is $2/hour but is not always a reliable option. Metered parking is readily available on Broadway between 7th and 8th Street or 8th Street between Franklin and Clay. You can find unmetered parking on 7th or 8th streets away from Chinatown towards MLK Drive.

We are just a few short blocks from the Oakland City Center 12th Street Station or the Lake Merritt BART station. If the door is locked, please call the office phone number and we will let you in.

Everyone’s body is different and some people may experience some soreness after their first few adjustments. This is perfectly normal because tissues are reorganizing and healing. It is usual for some symptoms to improve faster than others. We encourage anyone to follow up with a phone call or email with any concerns. Be patient and trust that your body knows how to heal, however gradual it may be for certain situations.

Take time to walk after your adjustment whenever possible, especially before sitting for any extended length of time. Don’t forget to drink lots of water to help flush any toxins released.
